Objecteering 6.1 new release - December 2007

Objecteering Software is pleased to announce the availability of Objecteering 6.1, the latest version of its model-driven development tool.

Beyond the complete support of UML2.1, Objecteering 6.1 supports the OMG's BPMN and SysML standards, and provides a new Java API for MDA tool customization.

St-Quentin-en-Yvelines – November 19th 2007 – Objecteering Software is please to announce the release of Objecteering 6.1, a new version including UML 2.1 dynamic diagrams. This version also introduces coverage of BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation), dedicated to modeling enterprise business processes, of SysML, used to model technical systems, and of the Praxeme approach. Another major new development is the openess of Objecteering 6.1 to Java as a development standard for UML2 profiles, MDA components and the customization of the Objecteering tool.

Objecteering 6.1 integrates BPMN support to model business management connected with the UML model. With the Objecteering EA extension, enterprise architecture processes are permanently integrated into UML modeling, in order to address all those participating in the definition of the company information system. Objecteering EA brings too all necessary diagrams to modeling SOA architecture. Objecteering 6.1 also supports the Praxeme initiative (www.praxeme.org), a methodology providing a reference context for all aspects of the company. Praxeme spans a wide range of aspects in the construction of an information system, integrating requirements from the initial objectives right through to production, based on modeling standards (UML, BPMN, MDA).

Beyond support of the OMG's UML 2.1, BPMN and SysML modeling standards, Objecteering 6.1 runs more than 280 consistency checks in real time, in order to permanently guarantee the quality of your models and consequently the quality of the deliverables that result from model-based transformations and generations (PIM, PSM, code, database, frameworks, production line, documentation, and so on).

With Objecteering 6.1's new Java API, you can browse the model, carry out model-to-model or model-to-code transformations, and drive the tool, its GUI and its diagrams to adapt them to your environment and methodology. Dedicated wizards minimize Java programming and make tool customization easier. The power of MDA combined with the richness of Java and the scope of Objecteering 6.1 features greatly increase productivity and development quality.

The Objecteering 6.1 range includes an extensive set of MDA components designed to support each modeling phase and a wide variety of development targets: Java/J2EE, C#/.Net, C++, SQL, CORBA and Fortran. Requirements definition and management is integrated into the tool, with a business domain dictionary. Objecteering 6.1 manages traceability, and provides customizable documentation generation to document requirements, the model and the produced code. Objecteering 6.1 integration into the Eclipse platform makes it a complete and powerful tool for Java. The combined use of MS Visual Studio guarantees C# and C++ development that combines the best of IDEs and UML tools.
